If you think you can, you will. If you think you can't, you won't.

• Heavier than air flying machines are impossible, the well-known British mathematician & physicist William Kelvin assured everyone in 1895.
• Everything that can be invented has been invented, stated a man of vision, Carles, H. Duell, Director of the US Patent Office in 1899.


• In his first three years in business, Henry Ford went broke three times.


• Dr. Seuss' first children's book was rejected by 23 publishers. The 24th publisher sold six million copies.


• The University of Bern rejected a Ph.D. dissertation saying that it was irrelevant and fanciful. Albert Einstein was dissapointed but not dejected.

There is no future in believing something can't be done. The future is in making it happen.

In each of the above mentioned instances, innovation, innovators & positive thinking met, challenged and overcame negative & myopic people - the type that go through life blocking light and avoiding anything that sounds iffy. Not every idea deserves to be supported. But I am driven to total distraction when ideas are blown off because they do not follow a well-known business model, scientific/engineering criteria.

The Great American Dream was based on the idea that the government should only govern and let businessmen do business. This let out the creative streak in USA which catapulted it to the top.
